What we collect

If you join a waitlist, we collect personal information from you, including information about your:

• name
• contact information

Separately, we measure how the site is used with Google Analytics, Vercel Web Analytics and our own page-view count: the pages you view, the site you arrived from, any campaign tags in the link, the country and region you are in, and actions such as joining the waitlist or clicking through to one of our products. Google Analytics uses cookies to do this. None of it is linked to your name or email, and you can switch all of it off. See the Cookie Policy.

How we use it

We collect your personal information in order to notify you when Orchid Horizon products launch, and to send you occasional product updates if you have asked to receive them.

Sharing

Besides our staff, we share this information with our hosting, email, and database providers (Vercel, Resend, and Neon) in order to store waitlist signups and send launch notification emails. Usage measurement goes to Google (Google Analytics), Vercel (Web Analytics) and our own internal system. These providers are based outside New Zealand, and we rely on their contractual safeguards to protect your information.

Optional information

Providing some information is optional. If you choose not to enter your name, we will still add you to the waitlist using your email address only.

How long we keep your information

We keep your personal information only for as long as we need it. Once the relevant Orchid Horizon product has launched and we have notified you, or you have asked us to remove you, we will delete your information from our active waitlist. Usage measurement is reported in aggregate and is not tied to your name or email.

Security

Your information is held with reputable third-party providers that maintain industry-standard security practices. Within Orchid Horizon Limited, only staff who need access to run the waitlist can see it.

Your rights under the Privacy Act 2020

You have the right to ask for a copy of any personal information we hold about you, and to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong. If you would like to ask for a copy of your information, or to have it corrected, please contact us at admin@orchidhorizon.com. We will respond within 20 working days as required by the Privacy Act 2020. You can also ask us to delete your information, and if you are not satisfied with how we have handled a request you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
